PATRIOTIC

Members of the Albert Sidney Johnston Chapter #105 support our country’s troops in a variety of ways. We send “Care Packages” about three (3) times a year to troops stationed overseas. We try to provide them with the little things that remind them of home as well as items badly needed by the troops. In addition, we support the overseas troops by sending coupons that can be used by the military families at the post exchanges and commissary.

We proudly support veterans by volunteering time at clinics and hospitals. We provide monetary contributions to aide those vets who could not otherwise afford transportation to medical appointments at the Austin Outpatient Clinics. We supply relevant materials for the homeless veterans program to assist with personal hygiene items and housekeeping products for veterans being placed in Section 8 housing.
RECORDER OF MILITARY SERVICE

The Albert Sidney Johnston Chapter #105 proudly salutes our veterans by bestowing awards to soldiers/sailors who have served or are serving in the military. The requirements, eligibility, and manner of submission are the same for living or deceased recipients. A recipient must have previously served in (and received an honorable discharge from) or currently be serving in the U.S. Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Merchant Marine, or Navy for a minimum number of days during a specified timeframe and in specific locations. The recipient must be a direct descendant, by bloodline (not by adoption), of a Confederate soldier or sailor who served honorably and who did not take the Oath of Allegiance before April 9, 1865.

Awards can be presented at the Chapter, Division, or General levels. The following is a listing of awards that can be bestowed on recipients: Cross of Military Service, National Defense Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Service Medal. These awards are bestowed with dignity and honor to our recipients.
